Mend Renovate - Cloud Resource Tiers

Community (Free) and Enterprise - new resource tiers

In January 2025, Mend.io introduced new resource tiers for free and paid customers on its Mend Renovate Cloud apps. The per-job resources previously given to all users (both free and paid) were slightly reduced to become the “Community (Free)” tier (Mend Renovate Community Cloud), and a new “Enterprise” tier, Mend Renovate Enterprise Cloud, was introduced for paying customers with increased resources compared to before. Mend Renovate Enterprise Cloud includes exclusive premium features, plus significantly increased resources for handling enterprise scale demands. For details of the Mend Renovate Community Cloud (Free) and Mend Renovate Enterprise Cloud resource tiers, see “Resources and Scheduling”.

Community (Boosted) - for large Orgs

In order to ease the transition from the previous free offering to the new Community tier, Mend.io moved a subset of existing installed organizations with high use onto a temporary “Community (Boosted)” tier. The Boosted Community tier includes more resources than Mend Renovate Community Cloud (Free), but less than Mend Renovate Enterprise Cloud. Users who have moved to the Boosted tier will see “Community (Boosted)” on the Org summary page on the Developer Portal.

The Boosted tier is a temporary tier available for selected Orgs until March 31st, 2025, after which time all Orgs still on the Boosted tier will be moved to Mend Renovate Community Cloud. Resources allocated for processing Renovate jobs will be decreased accordingly.

Organizations who want to continue to use increased resources and be able to run more concurrent jobs can upgrade to Mend Renovate Enterprise Cloud. It is proposed that this upgrade will soon be self-service (details to follow later), but in the meantime, purchases can be made directly with Mend.io by contacting Sales at sales@mend.io.

Community (OSS) - for Open Source projects

As part of Mend.io’s commitment to supporting the open source community, we have introduced a free “Community (OSS)” tier with increased resources for Git repositories of large open source projects.

To apply for the “Community (OSS)” tier for an OSS-licensed org, please create a “Suggest an Idea” discussion on the Renovate GitHub repo and tell us which Org you would like to request increased resources for. It will help if you can provide evidence that the Org is an open-source project.

Note: Acceptance is at the discretion of Mend.io.
