The Change Log History Report

Overview

The Change Log History Report provides up-to-date details on manual changes made by Mend or its users (administrators only).

Note: The report displays changes that were made within the last 12 months only.

Accessing the Report

  1. From the main menu, select Reports > Change Log History. The Change Log History Report page is displayed.

  2. Select the date range for which the report should be created, by selecting the Dates check box and entering the dates in the From and To fields.

  3. Click Show Logs and wait for the data to load into the report table.

  4. To further filter the report, do as follows:

    1. Expand the Filter area, select a property from the By dropdown menu, and enter the Value by which to filter.
      The property options are: Scope Name (default), Class, Change Aspect, Before Change, After Change, Organization, Product, Project, User and Comment.

    2. Click Filter.

After defining all the relevant filters, the Change Log History Report is generated displaying all the changes.

Understanding the Report Data

The Alert Resolution Duration Report displays the following information for each change:

  • Date: Date and time when the change occurred

  • Category: Category type of the change. Values are:

    • METADATA (e.g., library, vulnerability, source-library matching)

    • ADMIN (e.g., reports, approve/reject/ignore requests)

    • SCAN

    • CONFIGURATION (policies, system, settings, integration, integrate)

    • SETTINGS

  • Scope: Identifier for the operation's scope. Values are:

    • LIBRARY: Manually assigning a license to a library

    • SOURCE_FILE: Manually assigning a library to a source file

    • POLICY

    • PRODUCT/PROJECT (for product/project deletion)

  • Scope Name: The unique identifier for the library (i.e., library name)

  • Class: Identifier for the operation class can be one of the following:

    • SECURITY

    • LICENSE

    • SOURCE-MATCHING

    • POLICY-MANAGEMENT

    • ENTITY (for product/project deletion)

  • Change Aspect: Identifier for the change can be one of the following:

    • CREATED

    • CHANGED

    • DELETED

    • ORDER

  • Before Change: The value stored for the item prior to the change

  • After Change: The value stored for the item after the change

  • Organization: Name of the organization

  • Product: Name of the product. This value is blank when the operation’s scope is LIBRARY, since manually assigning a license to a library may affect all products and projects in the organization. 

  • Project: Name of the project. This value is blank when the operation’s scope is LIBRARY, since manually assigning a license to a library may affect all products and projects in the organization.

  • User: Username of the person that made the change

  • Comment: Comment that was entered regarding the change. If no comment was entered, the field is blank.

Exporting the Report

To export the report, click the Export dropdown menu at the top right corner of the report, and select the required export format:

  • Excel

  • XML

The exported report will reflect the selected date range context and specified filters.
